Program details
The Sociology Bachelor's program at UFLO University is designed to address social phenomena and issues with a broad and rigorous approach. Among these, we focus particularly on the social transformations occurring in recent years, driven by new technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and social algorithms. We believe sociology must play a leading role in these transformations by offering a critical perspective and contributing to the construction of a fairer society.
Our program has a computational focus that integrates digital knowledge and new technologies. Students, in addition to mastering traditional social research techniques, are trained in programming and data analysis through various workshops, which run from the first to the last year of the program. Upon completing the third year, students will receive an intermediate degree as "University Social Data Analyst."
The program is 100% virtual, with a mix of synchronous courses (virtual meetings with professors) and asynchronous courses (at your own pace). Synchronous courses are held in the evening (after 6:30 p.m. Argentina time).
The curriculum consists of four main areas and 40 subjects:
17 subjects in general sociological training
10 subjects in data analysis
7 research workshops
6 elective courses that constitute the three professional orientations: Intelligent Organizations, Interdisciplinary Issues, and Knowledge and Science.
We offer an Open Resources Repository that includes class materials, our social theory podcast series, recorded discussions with colleagues, developed IT tools, and other educational resources and tutorials.
